Product Description
The standout feature on the Strongback is its unique seating. The curved back promotes proper posture, resulting in a healthy upright position rather than the slumping often seen in other manual chairs. The seat angle aligns the pelvis for proper ergonomic posture, as well as preventing slipping and slouching forwards. The result is a wheelchair that provides proper lumbar support, reducing pain and curvature to the spine.
The wheelchair caters just as well to the attendant pushing it – it is lightweight at a mere 11.3 kg, making it easy to push and lift. The backrest folds flat, and the frame folds together in just seconds, allowing it to fit easily in the back of a car. The push handles are spaced wide apart to offer the correct stance for maximum control when pushing.
The Transit version of the Strongback features smaller wheels at the back – making it lighter, and ideal for an occupant who will only be pushed. The Strongback Self Propelled is the better option if the wheelchair user might want to propel themselves around, for example indoors. The Strongback is available in both 16 and 18 inch seat widths to provide a good fit for most people, and has a weight capacity of 18 stone.
