Product Description
The Boston is available in either manual or powered versions – both have the same range of movements and features, with the only difference being that the powered version has a rechargeable battery pack and hand control that operates the seating movements of the chair.
These seating movements include:
- Independent tilt in space – reducing pressure, aiding in comfort, and maintaining good posture.
- Independent backrest recline – allowing for a laid-back relaxed position; helps with changing position for those that spend longer periods of time in the chair.
- Independent leg rest adjustment – the gently profiled shape also helps to reduce the chance of the legs slipping off the leg rest.
To aid with pressure management a range of cushions are available, including memory foam, gel and air options. A selection of backrests and headrests can also be supplied with the Boston, while additional wedges can be fitted to the backrest to adapt its shape. Thick footplate pads can also be provided for a softer and deeper foot support. The modular design of the Boston allows it to easily be adapted to changing needs.
The Boston is available as an Express chair, allowing quick access to a supportive and comfortable porter chair. Normally, the Made to Measure version is preferred for a tailored fit, and wide choice of fabrics. A Junior version (pictured in green) is also available in smaller sizes for paediatric users.
Our Verdict
The Boston is unmatched in versatility, both in terms of the seating movements, the support and pressure relief from the cushioning, and the ability to move it from room to room.
