Product Description
Folding Frame
It is rare for tilting wheelchairs to be easy to transport – most feature large, heavy rigid frames and require an adapted vehicle if you want to take it in a car. The Tekna Advance is one of the few examples that can fold, reducing to a compact size (as pictured) that can fit in the boot of most cars, and which weighs from just 12.5 kg (with rear wheels, footrests, armrests and anti-tips removed). However, it is also fully crash-tested should you want to use the Tekna Tilt for occupied transport in an adapted vehicle.
Seating
The Tekna Tilt features a modular and highly-adjustable seating system that allows it to cater to a wide array of seating needs. With 45° tilt, optional 35° recline and elevating legrests, the range of adjustments allows for all-day use of the wheelchair. Those with complex seating needs can be catered to through a range of postural supports – and third-party backrests can be fitted, as well as pressure cushions.
Customisation
Functional aspects of the Tekna Tilt can be configured too, including transit or self-propelled wheels, handrims, and a variety of braking options. The appearance can be personalised too – Italian manufacturers Progeo are known for their attractive wheelchairs, and a range of colours can be picked for the frame.
Tekna Tilt 2.0 Junior
A Junior version of the Tekna Tilt is available, designed to cater to children with smaller seat sizes. The adjustability to the seating is particularly vital here, as it allows the wheelchair to “grow” over time as your child does, so it continues to fit over the years.
