Oxford Presence

For situations where the Oxford Advance’s 24 stone safe working load is not sufficient, the Presence is the next step up in Joerns Healthcare’s market-leading Oxford range of hoists. It has a capacity of 35 stone, and an outstanding lifting range of 44 – 191 cm – helping with off-the-floor transfers, and transfers to variable height beds and special lift mattresses. An optional digital weigh scale can be fitted, ideal for situations when the Presence may be used on multiple different patients.

Unlike some hoists, the Presence features an interchangeable spreader bar and cradle options, giving you a choice of sling systems to use, and letting it be used with stretchers too.

Powered leg positioning lets you open and close the legs automatically via the hand control. The swan-neck design of the legs helps to get the hoist close to wider obstacles, while an optional low leg variant maintains the same functionality but helps access under low bed frames and other furniture with little clearance.

Our Verdict

When Oxford’s Advance doesn’t have the weight capacity, the Presence is the obvious alternative – an ergonomic, simple and safe hoist for heavier people. For those above 35 stone, the Oxford Calibre is the model to look for – with a 60 stone capacity.
