Product Description
Motion Healthcare’s eDrive features a different folding mechanism to other autofolding scooters in our range, with a concertina-like fold. Simply press the button on the key-fob and it will fold up for you in just 7 seconds. Unlike other autofolding scooters, the battery can then be removed after the scooter has folded – allowing you to store the scooter in a car, and take the battery out for charging. Additionally, this folding mechanism means the scooter is “upright” when folded – you don’t need to bend down to lift it up on its end.
The super-compact size of the eDrive when folded allows it to fit in almost any car boot with no disassembly required. The scooter comes complete with a heavy duty travel bag to keep the scooter safe when travelling.
Despite being so compact, the eDrive still offers good performance and comfort – with impressive ground clearance, plenty of leg room, and a surprisingly high 21 stone weight capacity. The seat has a decent amount of padding to it, features flip-up armrests as well (omitted on some folding scooters), and the tiller is height adjustable.
The air safe Lithium Ion battery pack weighs just 1.7 kg, and provides a range of up to 9 miles on a single charge.
Our Verdict
The eDrive is quite different from other autofolding scooters in our range, such as TGA’s Minimo Autofold. The main advantage of it is the ability to remove the batteries when folded – if you want to store your scooter in your car, this is crucial, otherwise you can’t charge it!
It is also significant cheaper than other autofolding scooters – meaning in our view that it is well worth trying out, if you are after an automatically folding scooter.
