Folding frame

Invacare have introduced a unique folding mechanism for the Action 5 Folding. Unlike the usual cross-braces, the “H” shaped folding mechanism self-locks to provide a secure seat position and high levels of stability. The innovative design allows the frame to greatly reduce in size and for the backrest to fold down on the seat for transport, meaning it folds far smaller than a conventional folding wheelchair.

Adjustments

Well-suited to those who are new to wheelchair use, the Action 5 can be adjusted as you gain in confidence, moving from a more stable rear-wheel position to a more active, efficient set-up. A wide range of adjustments can be made to the set-up, including the backrest angle and height, seat height, legrest height, and far more. As a modular wheelchair, the Action 5 can be adapted further should your needs change significantly.

Seating and Options

The Action range is renowned for its configurable seating, and the Action 5 is no exception. Made to measure in your size, all aspects of the seat can be chosen from a range of options, including backrest upholstery, armrests, legrests and more. There is a choice of a lighter fixed-front frame, or swing-away legrests that makes transfers easier.

It’s not just the seat that is configurable – a choice of castors, rear wheels, tyres and handrims lets you tailor the performance of the wheelchair to your demands. The frame is also available in a range of colours, and three accent colours (silver, light blue, and purple) are available.

Junior version

An Action 5 Junior Folding variant exists for younger wheelchair users. Available in smaller seat widths, it also has the option for adjustable seat depth – ideal for growing children, so they don’t outgrow the wheelchair. The Action 5 is a good step up from an Action 3 Junior for children who want to develop their wheelchair skills.
