Bariatric Wheelchair Hire

The Bariatric Wheelchair features 60cm self propelling puncture proof rear tyres, double cross brace, detachable desk arms and swing away detachable footplates. It is self-propelled to allow the wheelchair user to propel themselves around, and to also provide a smoother ride when used outside. Convenient push handles at the back allow the wheelchair to be pushed by an attendant too.

Transport

The folding frame allows the bariatric wheelchair to be easily stored or transported in the back of a car. However, the steel construction means that the wheelchair is relatively heavy compared to aluminium wheelchairs, and will realistically require two people to lift. Additionally, the larger frame size means that it will take up more space in a car, so it will not fit in the boots of smaller vehicles.

Options

The padded seat sling is comfortable for general use – however for people spending long periods of time in the wheelchair, a comfort cushion is available to hire as an extra for £2 (ex VAT) per week.
