Product Description
The standout feature on the Strongback is its unique seating. The curved back promotes proper posture, resulting in a healthy upright position rather than the slumping often seen in other manual chairs. The seat angle aligns the pelvis for proper ergonomic posture, as well as preventing slipping and slouching forwards. The result is a wheelchair that provides proper lumbar support, reducing pain and curvature to the spine.
The wheelchair caters just as well to the attendant pushing it – it is lightweight at a mere 11.3 kg, making it easy to push and lift. The backrest folds flat, and the frame folds together in just seconds, allowing it to fit easily in the back of a car. The push handles are spaced wide apart to offer the correct stance for maximum control when pushing.
The Self-Propelled version of the Strongback features large rear wheels with handrims. This allows the occupant to propel themselves – giving them more freedom, particularly to get around their residence. The larger wheels also provide a smoother ride than small transit wheels. Finally, the SP version has an enhanced 21 stone weight capacity, allowing it to cater to heavier people.
